Recently I realized that all my advice and tips are worthless if you don't know how to make a living on the internet.
So I decided to give everyone a step by step guide to getting started absolutely FREE! There are a lot of e-books out there selling what I'm about to tell you for free.
Why am I doing this? Simple, I know there are a lot of people out there like I was that want to learn to make a living on the internet but have no idea how. Besides, It's good Karma!
There are thousands of get rich books, plans, schemes and programs out there that really just tell you enough to be dangerous. After paying sometimes a simply ridiculous fee, you will realize that this information is readily available on the internet. Now granted they do take the time to do the research and put this information together for you and this is worth paying for. But most don't tell you about the pitfalls to watch out for. After all you will become one of their competitors.
I will outline for you a step by step guide on how to get started making money on the internet. Armed with this information and the info I tell people about scams and rip-offs to watch out for, you should be able to make a living by applying time and common sence. Good luck and great success! The Basic Idea
I am going to show you how to become an affiliate marketer. NO you don't have to sell anything! You basically point people in the direction of what they want to buy and let the site that has the product they want do the selling. You will actually get paid for everyone that buys, signs up, registers or joins. I don't consider this selling, I call it Telling!
The Details
You can become an affiliate for almost everything for sale on the internet. You DO NOT take orders, process them, fill out forms (except for joining), manufactuer products, ship them follow up or take care of custormer service. All you DO is become an affiliate (kind of like a sales person) of a product (for free) and then make an ad on Google or Bing to sell the product. If no one clicks on your ad you pay nothing for it! When an interested buyer clicks on your ad then you pay the amount that you bid for the click. You can bid as low as .05 a click.(more on bids and ads later). When a buyer purchases the service or product you sell, you get paid a percentage for just sending them there.
Here's an example: I sell an e-book that sells for $29.95. For eveyone that gets sold through my affiliate ad link, I get $17.97. Thats 60% of the price comes to me!
On this particular Item I'm paying .10 a click. So for 100 clicks it cost me $10.00. (When utilizing great relevant keywords I average 1 out of 100 that buy the product). So I put $7.97 in my pocket. It may not sound like a lot but, if you had 50 ads that sold only 1 item a day, that adds up to $398.50 a day. Or $2789.50 a week!
The Steps
Step #1
Sign up for a free paypal account.
Some merchants will pay you via paypal, Some will pay you via direct deposit, and some will send you a check in the mail. Sign up for your paypal account now.
Step #2
Sign Up for Google adwords.
It's free and you can get started running ads immediately.

I suggest checking out the sign up demo and program details FAQ. Google ahs great info on how to use best use the ads for marketing.
Once you've conquered the Google experience check out Bing Ads and sign up for an account.
These are the two big search engines to get the most exposure for you Affiliate ads.
Step #3
Sign up to several affiliate brokers.
This is easy and free also. Remember to make sure that ALL of your info is correct. Including your phone#, Social Security, Name and address. They will verify this for your tax info and for the purpose of contacting you if needed. Some might ask you for your website or where you will advertise. If they do just put in the space,"I use Google Adwords". This should be acceptable. If not you can go to blogger.com and create your own free blog website in minutes! It can be about anything and you can also place links to items you sell there on your website!
Here are some links of the affiliate brokers that have hundreds of merchants that you can affiliate for just by joining a couple of brokers. These are among the top and most trusted brokers. These are the only ones I use right now.
Step #4
Now that you are an affiliate,
find a product or service you might like to sell. Next go to Google and create a campaign (an ad). Lets back up a minute. I advise you to go to Google adwords tutorial and help pages to see exactly how to set up a campaign (ad). Don't be frustrated with all the information they tell you. Once you've completed an ad you will see it is really very easy and can be done in just minutes!

You are now ready to make money! In the following paragraphs I will tell you about some of the pitfalls and give you advice on tweaking your new business. This section is the stuff that all those get rich e-books do NOT tell you about. I must say that these tips are purely my opinion on things I've tried that worked for me. Feel free to try them, chenge them, or do what ever you want to make your business successful! After all it's your business and your decisions that make it a success. You will see that there really are e-books out there that can help educate you in different marketing aspects of your business. I personally look at buying these books as a low cost investment in my business education.
Tips
O.K. as promised, some tips on making this work.
Earlier on this page I mentioned paying .10 a click for 100 clicks. Don't be fooled, Not every is a buying customer. In fact on that particular item I'm getting about a 1 out 100 click ratio. I could probably make this ratio better. You can actually change your ratios for the better or the worse just by re-wording your ad. I recommend doing a Google search on the item or service you plan on selling and look at your competitors ads to see how they worded theirs. Chances are if the ad is on the first couple of pages, they wouldn't be paying for a high click rate unless the ad was truly selling.
Keywords, I've tried a lot of keywords, as many as 500 for one ad. Don't Do It! This will just cost you a fortune in clicks from people who are not really interested in buying but just looking or browsing. The secret is to use just a couple of truely significant keywords. Be specific when descibing your product or service and don't be afraid to put the price in the ad. This way the buyer knows before he clicks what is on the other end and how much it costs. This will greatly increase the likelyhood that they will buy and not fly!
Finding the right keywords is also vital. You will see that the obvious keywords have a top bid on them so high you could never make your money back. Another secret is to find relevent keywords that others have not found. This will greatly improve what page your ad is placed on and also save you a lot by getting good page rank for minimum click price. I have found great keywords that have cost me .05 and got me on the first or second search page.
Finding Keywords is the toughest part of placing great selling ads. There are programs out there that can pick keywords for you. Here are a couple that I've used.
I have also tried to tweak the heck out of ads, after finding great keywords, for weeks. In the end I just realized I wasted my time and money on an item that just doesn't sell or nobody wants to buy on the itnernet. You have to use some common sence on whether or not you would buy some of this stuff on the intenet. But keep in mind some people will buy anything hence the pet rock.
Set up a checking account. I personallly wouldn't do this with out a checking account for my business. After all you are starting a business working for youirself and you need to keep track of income and spending. The merchants that you will affiliate for will send you an I-9 tax form that you will be responsible for paying income tax. Usually a percentage of the money you spend can be deducted come tax time. Check your federal, state and local tax laws to see how to handle your tax responsibility.
